Biography

Daveed Gartenstein-Ross’s unique synthesis of expertise in Islamic extremist ideology and the legal aspects of the war on
terror put him in great demand as a commentator and consultant. Trained as an attorney, Mr. Gartenstein-Ross left his job
as an associate at the law firm of Boies, Schiller & Flexner in September 2005 to work full-time as a counterterrorism
consultant. Mr. Gartenstein-Ross earned his law degree from the New York University School of Law, where he was a member
of the Law Review, was designated both a Pomeroy Scholar and Butler Scholar, and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
After law school, he clerked for the Honorable Harry T. Edwards on the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
Mr. Gartenstein-Ross also has experience working as a senior analyst for the Investigative Project, a Washington,
D.C.-based counterterrorism research center. He now works for a range of clients, and both law enforcement and policymakers
frequently seek out his insights.
Mr. Gartenstein-Ross frequently writes about terrorism, religious extremism and the law. His articles have appeared in a
wide range of publications, including The Weekly Standard, Commentary, The New York Sun, The Washington Times and The N.Y.U.
Law Review. He also provides expert analysis of terrorism and Islamic extremism on a variety of TV and radio programs.
His media appearances include The Big Story with John Gibson (Fox News Channel), DaySide with Linda Vester (Fox News Channel),
Scarborough Country (MSNBC), The 700 Club (Christian Broadcasting Network), The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly, The Joe
