Biography

Prior to starting LTU, Alex worked as a researcher at the Image and Multimedia Indexing Group at INRIA where he developed a new technology that enables object detection and retrieval in the image description engine. He brought to INRIA and LTU his experience working as an engineer at Aerospatiale-Matra, the leading European company in aeronautics, aerospace and defense manufacturing. Alexandre received his Ph.D. with honors in Image Processing from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications in Paris. He graduated from ENST with a major in Image Processing.

LTU technologies facilitate similarity searches within a database that enable the retrieval of duplicate or similar sets of images.
Advanced Search
Search parameters are configurable and can be "tuned" to focus directed emphasis on color or shapes associated with given images. Advanced search techniques used in image investigations result in identification of images that may differ in content but, clearly occur in the same environment.
Image Classification: Image-Filter
LTU Image-Seeker has a companion technology, Image-Filter which categorizes unidentified images according to image type classifications.
The Image-Filter classification engine is modeled upon a technique known as the supervised statistical learning process. LTU Image-Filter recognizes an image category from a series of positive and negative examples.
LTU Image Filter is a powerful tool facilitating the selection of only the most pertinent image characteristics related to the needs of a particular investigation.
