Abstract
Lessons in early warning and tactical intelligence –
Lebanon 2006 - abstract
The roots of failure:
- The “Concept” – why did the Israeli intelligence fail again and why it didn’t learn the lessons of 1973, 1982 and 1991?
- Pluralism VS. professionalism
- Strategic and tactical surprises
- Early warning failure - Strategic warning against tactical threats
- “Cry Wolf”
- Intelligence training – G2’s and S2’s – are they qualified?
The solutions:
- Pluralism VS. professionalism
- Questions we should be asking:
- When was the last time Israel, the USA or any other western country fought a major land battle against a regular army?
- What do we train our field intelligence officers for?
- Reinventing the wheel – lessons of the past, not learned
- Classification of intelligence
- Flow of information and intelligence
